10 things to keep in mind before using Johnson’s baby oil

As the loving parent that you are, here are ten things to keep in mind before using Johnson’s Baby Oil.

What is the oil used for?

Dry skin is caused by moisture loss in the topmost layer of the skin. For soft and supple skin, moisturizers are used to form an oily layer at the top of the skin to trap water.

So essentially, Johnson’s Baby oil is used as a medication to prevent or treat dry skin in babies. In addition to this, it is also used to cure rough skin, itching and general skin irritation.

Your baby’s skin loses moisture faster than those of adults during the first 15 – 20 months after birth. With Johnson’s baby oil, however, you can protect and nourish the skin regularly.

Different product Variations

Before you buy this product, you should also be aware that it has two product variations. Not to be confused with the product for hair, Johnson’s Baby Oil is for skincare only.

We have Johnson’s Baby Oil with Vitamin E and Johnson’s Baby Oil with Vitamin E (Non-Sticky oil). Both versions are rich in Vitamin E for skin enrichment and protection, but the difference is very slim.

The non-sticky version is lighter and quickly dissolves into the skin without leaving behind a sticky surface.

Also, note that both variations come in different sizes and are priced differently. You can go for the 500ml bottle for longer use or the cheaper 200ml bottle.

Special application

If you are using this product to treat diaper rash, make sure you clean the skin area properly and allow it to dry before applying the oil.

In cases of radiation burns, ask your baby’s doctor before administering the oil. Furthermore, make sure you only apply to the skin and no other area.

Although, the product has been certified as safe, avoid sensitive areas like the eyes, eardrums, mouth, nose, and vagina if your baby is a girl.
